Driver Lost Control on Highway 146 in Polk County Causing a Head-on Crash

A head-on crash occurred when a 34-year-old woman from Livingston, Texas spun out of control on late on Thursday, November 9, while traveling southbound on Highway 146 near Millgate Road, crossing the centerline and colliding with a pickup truck. According to News4SA, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Shemikia Brown had four children in her vehicle when she veered into the northbound lane around 10:15 pm and into the path of the GMC pickup. Brown was declared dead at the scene of the accident, as were three of the four children—a 13-year-old girl, and two boys, ages 2 and 11. A 6-year-old girl traveling in the vehicle was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was reported to have life-threatening injuries.

Cause of Spectacular Collision in Polk County Still Unknown

At the present time, law enforcement officers are uncertain what caused the accident. They say that Brown was headed southbound in a recent model Buick Lucerne. The impact of the crash tore most of the right side of the vehicle away. Police did not have any report on the status of the other driver or the extent of his injuries.
